At the law office of Nicholas S. Ackerman, we have over 10 years of experience handling divorce and family law matters, from child custody dispute and property settlements to separation and premarital agreements. Child Custody
We will help you establish and implement child custody and visitation arrangements that are in the best interests of your children, while protecting your rights as parents. We can assist you with initial determinations of custody or visitation, or can protect your rights in proceedings to modify or enforce existing court orders. Property Settlements
We will work with you to equitably divide the debts and assets of your marriage, including real estate, bank accounts and investments, and business property. Divorce
We represent men and women at all phases of a divorce, from the filing of a petition through negotiation or trial, as well as post-judgment requests for modification or enforcement of existing divorce decrees. We handle all matters related to or arising out of divorce, including child custody and visitation, alimony or child support, and the equitable distribution of marital debts and assets. Separation and Premarital Agreements
We negotiate, review and prepare separation agreements for men and women in North Carolina who wish to formalize the terms relating to custody, visitation, support and property, in anticipation of divorce.
